The essence of these two strategies is to make explicit the knowledge embedded in a general problem formulation which can be used to constrain the solution search space. These two strategies have been incorporated into a methodology which we previously developed for automatically generating admissible search heuristics. The effectiveness of these strategies is demonstrated by the application to robot optimal task planning problems.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1987/210","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1987/0210.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1987/210.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1987/bibtex/210","volume":{"slug":"1987","title":"Proceedings of the Tenth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 1987","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1987/","year":1987,"location":"Milan, Italy","dates":"","editors":"John McDermott","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":"Reasoning","track":"Reasoning","number":210,"pages":{"first":1018,"last":1023},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
