This renaming is not 1-1, in the sense that several predicate symbols R1 ,... , Rn from the original theory are all replaced by a single symbol R' in the abstract theory. In order to preserve consistency, however, the clauses that distinguish the Ri'S must be discarded in the abstract theory. This leads to a simple semantics; the union of the extensions of each of the Ri'S in any model of the original theory forms the extension ofR' in a model of the abstract theory.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1987/208","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1987/0208.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1987/208.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1987/bibtex/208","volume":{"slug":"1987","title":"Proceedings of the Tenth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 1987","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1987/","year":1987,"location":"Milan, Italy","dates":"","editors":"John McDermott","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":"Reasoning","track":"Reasoning","number":208,"pages":{"first":1011,"last":1013},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
