The basic control structure of GOLDIE is the schema, a declarative specification of control strategies invoked in response to a request (goaQ for a particular form of intermediate-level data. Using this control paradigm, high-level interpretation processes gain the ability to create or refine the intermediate-level data according to predefined goals and/or current hypotheses during interpretation. A variety of schemas for tasks such as region segmentation, line extraction, collinear line grouping, and line-based segmentation are currently implemented within the GOLDIE system.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1987/168","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1987/0168.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1987/168.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1987/bibtex/168","volume":{"slug":"1987","title":"Proceedings of the Tenth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 1987","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1987/","year":1987,"location":"Milan, Italy","dates":"","editors":"John McDermott","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":"Perception","track":"Perception","number":168,"pages":{"first":811,"last":813},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
