In previotu work, we adopted general phy~ical modelwhich de~cribe how object~ interact with light. The~e model~ are far more general than tho~e typically u~ed in computer vi~ion. In thi~ report, we tue our phy~ical mode/8 to derive powerful algorithm8 for extracting invariant propertie8 of object8 from image8. The jir8t algorithm i~ used for the generic cla88ijication of object~ according to material. The ucond algorithm provide8 a ~olution to the color con8tancy problem . Theu algorithm8 have been implemented and produce correct re8ulb on real image8. Some example8 of experimental re~ult8 are pre8ented.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1987/154","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1987/0154.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1987/154.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1987/bibtex/154","volume":{"slug":"1987","title":"Proceedings of the Tenth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 1987","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1987/","year":1987,"location":"Milan, Italy","dates":"","editors":"John McDermott","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":"Perception","track":"Perception","number":154,"pages":{"first":759,"last":761},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
