We have introduced rule-based representation at two levels : - the modelling of the studied system, which is very general and versatile, and nevertheless quantifiable because of the rule-base representation . - the storage of the reliability engineers' knowledge about failure modes and effects · for conventional components . The productivity of the reliability studies has been substantially improved with this approach .","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1987/108","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1987/0108.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1987/108.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1987/bibtex/108","volume":{"slug":"1987","title":"Proceedings of the Tenth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 1987","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1987/","year":1987,"location":"Milan, Italy","dates":"","editors":"John McDermott","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":"Knowledge Representation","track":"Knowledge Representation","number":108,"pages":{"first":541,"last":543},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
