The paper consists of two parts. In the first one a translation method of non-normal defaults into the normal ones is given. Although not generally valid, this translation seems to work for a wide class of defaults. In the second part a semantics for normal default theories is given and the completeness theorem is proved.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1985/90","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1985/0090.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1985/90.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1985/bibtex/90","volume":{"slug":"1985","title":"Proceedings of the Ninth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 1985","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1985/","year":1985,"location":"Los Angeles, California, USA","dates":"","editors":"Aravind Joshi","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":"Knowledge Representation","track":"Knowledge Representation","number":90,"pages":{"first":459,"last":460},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
