The system includes a language in which concurrent AI application programs can he written, a machine which provides direct hardware support for the language, and a resource allocation mechanism which maps programs onto the machine in ord er to exploit the program's con c urrency in an effic ient mann er at run-tllne. The paper provides a brief synopsis of the nature of the language and resource allocation mechanism, hut is primarily concerned with the description of the physical architecture of the machine. The architecture is consistent with high performance VLSI implementation and packaging technology, and is easily extended to include arbitrary numbers of processors.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1985/8","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1985/0008.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1985/8.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1985/bibtex/8","volume":{"slug":"1985","title":"Proceedings of the Ninth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 1985","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1985/","year":1985,"location":"Los Angeles, California, USA","dates":"","editors":"Aravind Joshi","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":"AI Architectures","track":"AI Architectures","number":8,"pages":{"first":32,"last":37},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
