It represents an extension of a natural deduction theorem prover that has eliminated the negation symbol in favor of certainty factors and has an improved method of splitting problems into subproblems. Formulas are object-centered and are stored at nodes which are designed to control and provide sharper focus to the search. These nodes either are pointed to by words in a dictionary or are created by the deduction engine in its attempt to solve a specific problem.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1985/64","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1985/0064.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1985/64.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1985/bibtex/64","volume":{"slug":"1985","title":"Proceedings of the Ninth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 1985","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1985/","year":1985,"location":"Los Angeles, California, USA","dates":"","editors":"Aravind Joshi","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":"Expert Systems","track":"Expert Systems","number":64,"pages":{"first":335,"last":338},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
