In the AI/ Robotic world, a formal IIOdel for 110tor knowledqe should fill a qap between task planning and low level robot languages; such model should be able to \"virtualize\" the robot and the interaction wi th the environment so that the planner could produce (and rely on) high level abstract actions, characterized by high autonomy and skill. The paper discusses some qeneral aspects about actions, actors, and scenes, and describes the NEM lanquaqe, which is able to represent and animate humanoids in a scene and is meant to provide a software laboratory for experimenting with action schemas .","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1985/227","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1985/0227.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1985/227.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1985/bibtex/227","volume":{"slug":"1985","title":"Proceedings of the Ninth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 1985","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1985/","year":1985,"location":"Los Angeles, California, USA","dates":"","editors":"Aravind Joshi","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":"Robotics","track":"Robotics","number":227,"pages":{"first":1110,"last":1111},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
