# First Results in Robot Road-Following

## Abstract

The new Carnegie-Mellon Autonomaus Land Vehicle group has produced the first demenstratians of road -following robots . in this pap er we first describe the robots that are part of the CMU Autonomau s Land Vehicle project. We next describe the vision systern of th e CMU AL V. We then present the control algorithms, inc!udi ng a si mple and stable control scheme for vi sual servoing. Finally, we discuss our plans for the future.
