Certain inadequacies of the partial ordering scheme used in NOAH are pointed out and a new architecture is detailed which circumvents these problems. An example from the semi-automated factory domain is used to illustrate features of the new planner. Techniques for eliminating unnecessary travel time by the robot and avoiding backtracking due to deadline failures are discussed and their incorporation in the planner is described.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1985/213","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1985/0213.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1985/213.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1985/bibtex/213","volume":{"slug":"1985","title":"Proceedings of the Ninth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 1985","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1985/","year":1985,"location":"Los Angeles, California, USA","dates":"","editors":"Aravind Joshi","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":"Planning and Search","track":"Planning and Search","number":213,"pages":{"first":1052,"last":1053},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
