*Proceedings of the Ninth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence*, pages 1031-1032.

## Abstract

A program is desc ribed which augments plans with sy nchronizing primitives to ensure appropriate conOict avoidance and co-operation . The plans are particularly suitable for desc ribing the activity of multiple agents which may int erfere with each other. Th e interpretation of a plan is given as a non d ete rministic finite automaton which exchanges messages with an environment for th e co mmen ceme nt and conclusion of primitive actions which take place over a period of time . The synchronized plan allows any and all exec ution sequ ences of th e original plan which guarant ee correct int eraction .
