This tutor achieves a set of pedagogical objectives derived from Anderson 's (1983) learning theory : provide instruction in the context of problem-solving , have the student generate as much of each solution as possible . provide immediate feedback on errors. and represent the goal structure of the problem-solving . The tutorial interface facilitates communication and prevents distracting low-level errors . Field tests of the tutor in college c lasses demonstrate that it is more effective than conventional classroom instruction .","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1985/2","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1985/0002.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1985/2.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1985/bibtex/2","volume":{"slug":"1985","title":"Proceedings of the Ninth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 1985","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1985/","year":1985,"location":"Los Angeles, California, USA","dates":"","editors":"Aravind Joshi","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":"AI and Education","track":"AI and Education","number":2,"pages":{"first":8,"last":13},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
