The inversion problern for polyhedra (from an EGI to a description in terms of vertices and faces) has been solved, by an iterative algorithm [Little, 1983[. The algorithm depends upon the mixed volume, a geometric construction linking the areas and positions of the faces of an object. A robust method for determining object attitude from the EGI is developed here, using this construction. Experiments show the method's insensitivity to small attitude differences.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1985/192","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1985/0192.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1985/192.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1985/bibtex/192","volume":{"slug":"1985","title":"Proceedings of the Ninth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 1985","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1985/","year":1985,"location":"Los Angeles, California, USA","dates":"","editors":"Aravind Joshi","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":"Perception","track":"Perception","number":192,"pages":{"first":960,"last":962},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
