## Abstract

Measurements on image texture interpreted under an app rox im ate perspective image model can be used with an iterative eonstraint propagation algorithrn to determine sur faee o ri entation. An extension of the ideas allows their robust applieation to natural images of textured planes. The t ee hniques are demonstrated on synthetie and natural images.
