Although many of the knowledge structures are specific to the UNIX Consultant domain, a common design goal is the use of associative processing. By providing direct links between related knowledge structures, inference and other processing can be done very efficiently . Access to representations in UC is by hash indexing which simulates a real associative memory.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1983/93","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1983/0093.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1983/93.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1983/bibtex/93","volume":{"slug":"1983","title":"Proceedings of the Eighth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 1983","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1983/","year":1983,"location":"Karlsruhe, West Germany","dates":"","editors":"Alan Bundy","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":"Knowledge Representation","track":"Knowledge Representation","number":93,"pages":{"first":388,"last":389},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
