The 30 Mosaic system incrementally derives a 3D description of a complex urban scene from multiple images. The description , which we call a sce ne model , is· intended to be useful for tasks such as matching, display generation , planning paths through the scene, and making other decisions dealing with the scene environment. This paper briefly describes the system and some experiments in acquiring and using the scene model.
