The method is based on a model of the environment with several hierarchical levels organized by degree of abstraction. The mathematical structuring tool used is the decomposition of a graph into its k-connected components (k=2 and k=3). This structure allows the robot to improve navigation procedures and to recognize some concepts, such as a door, a roo~ or a corridor.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1983/202","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1983/0202.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1983/202.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1983/bibtex/202","volume":{"slug":"1983","title":"Proceedings of the Eighth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 1983","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1983/","year":1983,"location":"Karlsruhe, West Germany","dates":"","editors":"Alan Bundy","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":"Robotics","track":"Robotics","number":202,"pages":{"first":839,"last":840},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
