In this paper we discuss event models for traffic scenes as high-level conceptual structut·es which permit intet·facing to an existing natural language dialogue system. Event models are declarative descriptions of classes of events organized around verbs of locomotion. They involve components which at'e dit·ectly t\"elated to the deep case structure of a corresponding natural language desct·iption. Event models may be used for bottom-up scene description as well as top-down question-answering. They may also incot·porate expectations about a scene, thus providing an interface to experience and common sense .","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1983/176","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1983/0176.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1983/176.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1983/bibtex/176","volume":{"slug":"1983","title":"Proceedings of the Eighth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 1983","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1983/","year":1983,"location":"Karlsruhe, West Germany","dates":"","editors":"Alan Bundy","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":"Natural Language","track":"Natural Language","number":176,"pages":{"first":724,"last":725},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
