These representations capture different and possibly complementary aspects of a text's form, content and reference worlds, and are sui ted to different subtasks of the language processor. Initial testing of the proposition via a system designed for natural language access to databases is described, showing how different types of meaning representation with different characteristics are called for, related, and used.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1983/146","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1983/0146.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1983/146.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1983/bibtex/146","volume":{"slug":"1983","title":"Proceedings of the Eighth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 1983","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1983/","year":1983,"location":"Karlsruhe, West Germany","dates":"","editors":"Alan Bundy","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":"Natural Language","track":"Natural Language","number":146,"pages":{"first":621,"last":622},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
