By the use of higher concepts (like transitivity and conversity) attributes of and relations among two-place predicates are discovered by induction. This new knowledge is represented as metafacts which can be transformed into inference rules if needed. The relations among meta facts are expressed as meta rules. The higher concept of support sets correspond to the domains for which meta facts are true. The process of restructuring support sets in order to resolve contradictions (and to make inference rules more precise) is discussed.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1983/111","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1983/0111.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1983/111.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1983/bibtex/111","volume":{"slug":"1983","title":"Proceedings of the Eighth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 1983","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1983/","year":1983,"location":"Karlsruhe, West Germany","dates":"","editors":"Alan Bundy","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":"Learning and Knowledge Acquisition","track":"Learning and Knowledge Acquisition","number":111,"pages":{"first":455,"last":457},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
