Practical considerations and methods which increase system validity while minimizing demands on human domain specialists are explored. The methodology concentrates on domain definition (background knowledge, references, situations, and procedures), on fundamental knowledge formulation (elementary rules, beliefs, and expectations), and on basal knowledge consolidation (review and correction cycles). Experience gained from testing and from expert feedback is described .","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1983/106","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1983/0106.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1983/106.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1983/bibtex/106","volume":{"slug":"1983","title":"Proceedings of the Eighth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 1983","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1983/","year":1983,"location":"Karlsruhe, West Germany","dates":"","editors":"Alan Bundy","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":"Learning and Knowledge Acquisition","track":"Learning and Knowledge Acquisition","number":106,"pages":{"first":436,"last":437},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
