First, there is a strong dependency on the order of the presented examples. Second, each example has its own peculiarities which nust be 011ercane. Third, the size of the generalization space can be huge, even if the instance language is snall. By adding perturbation operators to the concept tree each of these problems can be alleviated. This is demonstrated in a system which learns, through interaction with a teacher, to solve simultaneous linear equations.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1983/100","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1983/0100.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1983/100.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1983/bibtex/100","volume":{"slug":"1983","title":"Proceedings of the Eighth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 1983","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1983/","year":1983,"location":"Karlsruhe, West Germany","dates":"","editors":"Alan Bundy","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":"Learning and Knowledge Acquisition","track":"Learning and Knowledge Acquisition","number":100,"pages":{"first":415,"last":417},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
