But before we lay down our nets, and embrace Logic, we ought at least to be clear about what \"precticate calculus\" l,s. We advance some clarificatory points to this eft\"ect. Moreover I there seems to be at least one feature of some net/frame SChemes that defy simple translation into standard ~oraalisms: \"prototypes\". Yet this feature is not itself without difficulties, some of which we address here. In the end 1 we plead for an open mind and a search for z·ormal-semantical alternatives to \"classical logic\".","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1981/88","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1981/0088.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1981/88.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1981/bibtex/88","volume":{"slug":"1981","title":"Proceedings of the Seventh International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 1981","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1981/","year":1981,"location":"Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada","dates":"24-28 August 1981","editors":"Roger C.
