The utility of such a machine has been demonstrated analytically [1, 2] and through implementation of a working knowledge-based information retrieval system in which the NON-VON machine instructions were emulated in software [3]. In cooperation with the Stanford Computer Science Department, we have recently begun to implement the most important components of the machine as custom VLSI circuits.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1981/183","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1981/0183.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1981/183.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1981/bibtex/183","volume":{"slug":"1981","title":"Proceedings of the Seventh International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 1981","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1981/","year":1981,"location":"Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada","dates":"24-28 August 1981","editors":"Roger C.
