Making Aesthetic Choices
Proceedings of the Sixth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence. .
Abstract
A fr•mework Is presented for making choices that are primarily constrained by aesthetic, as opposed to pr•am•lic, consider•lions. An example of the application of this framework is a computer system celled "Ani", capeble of m1kina simple computer 1nim1tion in response to high-level incomplete story descriptions. Ae~lhelic choice is pre~ent~d . as • p•r•llel compul•lion in which each choice point g1lhers together and evaluates suggest1ons. When feted w•lh difficulties these choices cen be postponed. The order in which inter-dependent choices are made is influenced by the focus of the problem.
