The depth map (and surface normals) are computed by recovering the egomotion parameters which in turn determine the ratio of depth associated with any two neighbouring \"retinal\" points, The surface normal map may be computed to a degree of accuracy determined by the resolution of the \"retina\", and by the accuracy of approximation obtainable in the solution of three non-linear equations of the third degt~e in three unknowns.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1979/155","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1979/0155.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1979/155.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1979/bibtex/155","volume":{"slug":"1979","title":"Proceedings of the Sixth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 1979","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1979/","year":1979,"location":"Tokyo, Japan","dates":"August 20-23, 1979","editors":"Bruce G.
