This paper describes two subjects: data entry technique for the realization of a music database and its application to comparative musicology. The former deals with dictation of melody sound. The latter concerns a method to find what scale is included in the melody, using knowledge in the modern ethno-musicology, and describes a certain measure of similarity of music.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1979/138","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1979/0138.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1979/138.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1979/bibtex/138","volume":{"slug":"1979","title":"Proceedings of the Sixth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 1979","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1979/","year":1979,"location":"Tokyo, Japan","dates":"August 20-23, 1979","editors":"Bruce G.
