This documentation expresses invariant relationships that hold between program variables at intermediate points in the program, and explains the actual workings of the program regardless of whether the program is correct. These techniques, formulated as deduction rules for both guaranteed invariants and candidate invariants, represent a unification of existing approaches, and sometimes improve upon them.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1977/87","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1977/0087.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1977/87.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1977/bibtex/87","volume":{"slug":"1977","title":"Proceedings of the Fifth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 1977","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1977/","year":1977,"location":"Cambridge, MA, USA","dates":"","editors":"Raj Reddy","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":"Aids to Programming","track":"Aids to Programming","number":87,"pages":{"first":378,"last":-1},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
