It is designed to accommodate both the semantic constructs most frequently found in scientific text (at present, excluding the description of change) and the knowledge storage and retrieval mechanisms of languages like CONNIVER, in which it may be implemented. Emphasis is placed on using \"real\" text, and in interacting with scientists {particularly biologists) to discover their particular needs. Though KAL is English-like, most natural larquaqes could be substituted with no difficulty.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1975/93","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1975/0093.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1975/93.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1975/bibtex/93","volume":{"slug":"1975","title":"Proceedings of the Fourth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 1975","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1975/","year":1975,"location":"Tbilisi, Georgia, USSR","dates":"","editors":"Patrick Winston and Carl Hewitt","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":"A.I.
