We also argue the case for studying Artificial Learning. We present a computer program with a very limited sense modality that acquires some facility with the English language and learns some numerical concepts. The principles by which such learning takes place are expressed in terms of a concept of process and they prove to be applicable to learning the decimal numeral system and forming elementary utterances as well as ' learning to interpret English sentences.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1975/39","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1975/0039.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1975/39.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1975/bibtex/39","volume":{"slug":"1975","title":"Proceedings of the Fourth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 1975","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1975/","year":1975,"location":"Tbilisi, Georgia, USSR","dates":"","editors":"Patrick Winston and Carl Hewitt","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":"Learning Debugging And Automatic Programming","track":"Learning Debugging And Automatic Programming","number":39,"pages":{"first":253,"last":258},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
