A descriptive definition of IS is given. One can ~ee that the investigation of some important aspects of IS's functioning lead us to realize the necessity of a general language concept. The definition of the language is given as a triple: language = <syntax, set of possible worlds, validity > . The usefulness of this language concept for describing the IS functioning is shown. Mathematical background of this concept gives the possibility for the foundation of the formal IS's theory.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1975/2","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1975/0002.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1975/2.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1975/bibtex/2","volume":{"slug":"1975","title":"Proceedings of the Fourth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 1975","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1975/","year":1975,"location":"Tbilisi, Georgia, USSR","dates":"","editors":"Patrick Winston and Carl Hewitt","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":"Mathematical and Theoretical Aspects of A.I","track":"Mathematical and Theoretical Aspects of A.I","number":2,"pages":{"first":9,"last":13},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
