It proposes a model guided approach for recognition in which models of objects direct recognition process by suggesting the features to be examined next and their predicted locations. For the system to be readily applied to new tasks, it can automatically generate the models of objects while a human operator showing example parts and teaching important features of them interactively on displays. The system has been applied to various sets of parts of small industrial gasoline engines and the result was satisfactory.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1975/130","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1975/0130.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1975/130.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1975/bibtex/130","volume":{"slug":"1975","title":"Proceedings of the Fourth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 1975","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1975/","year":1975,"location":"Tbilisi, Georgia, USSR","dates":"","editors":"Patrick Winston and Carl Hewitt","isbn":"","publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence","doi_prefix":""},"section":"Robots And Productivity Technology","track":"Robots And Productivity Technology","number":130,"pages":{"first":819,"last":-1},"keywords":[],"videos":[],"references":[],"license_note":"Copyright International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence."}
