The eigenvalue of pattern of stress distribution on the surface of the receptor elements is derived from the Helmholtz equation . The element spacing of receptor is designed by using the relative error of the eigenvalue of the sampled pattern as the design specification. A simple experiment classifying cylinders, trigonal prism and square pillar was performed by the artificial hand with multi-elements. As a result, a high percentage of correct answer is obtained.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1973/82","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1973/0082.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1973/82.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1973/bibtex/82","volume":{"slug":"1973","title":"Proceedings of the Third International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 1973","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1973/","year":1973,"location":"Stanford, California, USA","dates":"20-23 August 1973","editors":"Nils J.
