Finding Picture Edges through Collinearity of Feature Points
Proceedings of the Third International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence. Computer Vision. Pages 543-554.
Abstract
The recovery o f straight ~icture edges from digitisations of scenes containing ~oly hedra ( ' line finding ' ) is central to the functioning of scene analysis ~rograms . While recognising that recovery ~ro~erly involves a com~utational mobilisation of a great deal of knowledge - su~ported context , there remain some basic issues of re~resent ation whi ch govern th e way in which the primary data - grey lev~ls - are addressed . Th e ~a~er describes a ~arametric re~resenta tion of straight ~icture edges and its ~ro cedural de ~ loyment in the recovery of edges from digitisations of scenes whose contents are essentially ~olyhedra with strong visible shadows.
