The representation of games, acquisition of rules, learning of strategies, and selection of moves are outlined. Details of move selection, including scanning of the board, use of familiar patterns to suggest move candidates, evaluation of moves, and lookahead are described. Finally, there is a discussion of the means by which the model learns to play a better game.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1973/58","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1973/0058.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1973/58.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1973/bibtex/58","volume":{"slug":"1973","title":"Proceedings of the Third International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 1973","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1973/","year":1973,"location":"Stanford, California, USA","dates":"20-23 August 1973","editors":"Nils J.
