Specifically, hypotheses are formed by the decoder concerning the phonet~c transcription derived during acoust~c analysis. The procedure then accesses and utilizes relevant acoustic data in an attempt to verify or reject these hypotheses. Depending on the success of such attempts, actions are taken to constrain the decoding in subsequent processing iterations. Preliminary results are presented and discussed.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1973/23","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1973/0023.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1973/23.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1973/bibtex/23","volume":{"slug":"1973","title":"Proceedings of the Third International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 1973","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1973/","year":1973,"location":"Stanford, California, USA","dates":"20-23 August 1973","editors":"Nils J.
