Use of the model with t op-down and bottom-up disciplines is discussed. An example of the design of an object using a semi-automated design system based on the model is presented. Several issues raised by the model's qualitative aspects, its suitability to automated design, and lines for further development are discussed.","doi":null,"url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1971/64","pdf":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1971/0064.pdf","markdown":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1971/64.md","bibtex":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1971/bibtex/64","volume":{"slug":"1971","title":"Proceedings of the Second International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","short_title":"IJCAI 1971","url":"https://ijcai.org/proceedings/1971/","year":1971,"location":"London, UK","dates":"","editors":"D.C.
